    Living off campus

Prefer to live off campus? Both accommodation teams can provide information about living off campus and share details of accommodation available in the local area

    Harper Adams University

The Harper Adams University Accommodation Team are happy to support students searching for appropriate off-campus accommodation. Please let us know as soon as possible if you are planning to live off campus during your first year of study.

The vast majority of off-campus student housing is within a six-mile radius of Harper Adams, mostly in the nearby town of Newport or the village of Edgmond. Some Harper & Keele students choose to live between the two campuses.

Accommodation ranges from single occupant residences or lodging with a family, to shared houses for larger groups. These include apartments, houses, bungalows, cottages, and even converted barns.

Harper Adams runs a subsidised shuttle bus service between the campus and Newport. You can get your daily return, weekly, termly or annual shuttle bus pass from the Harper Adams online store. For more information about this service, including the costs and timetable, visit the Harper Adams website.

    Accommodation from year two

Once enrolled, you can access the Harper Adams Property Search pages, which list local accredited accommodation. Each year, the Accommodation Team update these listings to include the availability for the next academic year and hold several information workshops. We recommend first year students wait until January before securing off-campus accommodation for the next academic year(s).

Please note, Year 0 students (Extended Foundation degree) do not automatically qualify for accommodation on campus in the following year.

    Keele University

The Keele University accommodation team are happy to offer assistance and advice when it comes to choosing an off campus solution for your student accommodation.

When living off campus, we strongly recommend that you choose properties advertised on the Keele University Studentpad website. All properties advertised are owned by reputable landlords who have been accredited by a UK-wide landlord accreditation scheme.

There is plenty of off-campus accommodation within Newcastle-under-Lyme and Stoke-on-Trent. This includes privately run off campus student accommodation halls and house shares.

Keele campus benefits from strong transport links both locally and nationally, to find out more about travelling to and from campus visit the Keele University website.

    Accommodation from year two

You will be notified about application dates, eligibility and the application deadline and how to apply for accommodation via the accommodation portal.

Advice & Support at Keele Students’ Union (ASK) hold an annual Housing Fair – usually at the end of January or the beginning of February – and invite landlords who have been accredited by a UK-wide landlord accreditation scheme.

Off-campus accommodation is available in all years of study. Returning students will be contacted in January and provided with accommodation application information.
